Congratulations!

You’ve completed your All-on-X dental implant procedure and you now have a brand new smile! But, you need to remember that you just underwent a major procedure and now your body needs to heal. A very soft food, or even a liquid diet, is recommended during your first ten days post-surgery. Below we’ve listed some ideas for you.

Liquid Diet Foods

  • Applesauce
  • Avocado
  • Bananas (mashed)
  • Cream of wheat
  • Creamy or broth soups
  • Fruit smoothies
  • Honey
  • Hummus
  • Ice cream
  • Jello
  • Mashed cauliflower
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Meal replacement drinks
  • Protein shakes
  • Pudding
  • Pureed cooked eggs
  • Pureed meats (i.e. baby food)
  • Refried beans
  • Vegetable smoothies
  • Yogurt

One last tip, if you puree it, you can have it. We just can’t guarantee you’ll want to drink...

Soft Food Diet

After the first ten days, unless otherwise specified by your doctor, you can move to a soft food diet. Make sure that these foods require very little effort to chew and swallow. If you cannot cut it easily with a fork, you should not eat it in your first six months of healing.

  • Anything from the list above
  • Canned fruits without skin or seeds
  • Cooked or ripe fruits
  • Cottage cheese
  • Fish Ground beef (meatloaf, meatballs, sloppy joe)
  • Oatmeal Pancakes, muffins, waffles
  • Roasted/stewed chicken
  • Smooth peanut butter
  • Soft pasta/rice
  • Soups with small soft pieces of vegetables and/or meat
  • Tofu
  • Very soft breads
  • Well-cooked soft vegetables
  • Scrambled eggs

Foods to avoid altogether during your six month healing period include:

  • Peanuts Popcorn
  • Potato Chips, tortillas chips,
  • Crackers, pretzels
  • Similar hard food
